SLO City Council candidate Eric Meyer has announced that he is dropping out of the race. Meyer, an entrepreneur and former city planning commissioner, said in a letter to supporters that friendship means more to him that political aspirations.
Three council seats are up for election in November. Mayor Jan Marx and Councilwoman Carlyn Christiansen will seek re-election, while Councilwoman Kathy Smith will not seek re-election. Two other candidates have declared their candidacy for city council, Gordon Muller a financial planner with Zuk Financial Group and Daniel Gano, executive director of UK nonprofit LINK.
