San Luis Obispo police arrested Turner Newman after discovering a loaded shotgun and handgun, ammunition, handcuffs, leg restraints, duct tape, zip ties, and a large machete in his car.
It happened on March 13 when an employee of Heritage Oaks Bank, on Froom Ranch Road, called police after spotting Newman in the parking lot and became nervous.
Newman was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and loaded firearm in a vehicle. He has also been charged with possession of a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school.
Police searched Newman’s residence and recovered his computer, which has search histories focusing on killing, maiming, rendering unconscious, and drugging people.
Police say they’re seeking anyone who may have been a victim of criminal or suspicious activity involving Newman to call the San Luis Obispo Police Department.
Newman remains in custody at the San Luis Obispo County Jail without bail.
