Construction plans are moving forward to widen the overpass on Los Osos Valley Road from three lanes to four to solve congestion problems, as the three lane road often backs up on both sides of the highway. The $33 million project also adds sidewalks and bike lanes. Last Tuesday, the city council said the Public Work's Department can start accepting proposals from construction management firms. The contract for the construction management company is a $2.4 million deal. The project is expected to break ground in the fall. Construction is expected to begin this fall and could last 19 months.
