Memorial Held For K9 Deputy Jake

Yesterday, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office held its first ever K9 memorial ceremony.  Sheriff Ian Parkinson led the procession of K9's and their handlers.

A burial ceremony was held for K9 Jake who began his service with the Sheriff's Office in January 2001 and died Jan. 7, 2010.

A final resting place behind the Sheriff's Office has been created for Jake and other K9's who dedicate their lives in the service of the Sheriff's Office.
