A former follower of Charles Manson is getting another shot at freedom. The state parole board has recommended parole for convicted killer Bruce Davis, who was convicted of murder for the 1969 killings of Gary Hinman and Donald "Shorty" Shea. Prosecutors had said the now-71-year-old Davis carried out the killings at the insistence of Manson. Davis has been recommended twice before for parole but was rejected by then-Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2010 and by Governor Jerry Brown last year. Davis currently at CMC in San Luis Obispo.
