The shooting deaths of two Santa Maria men Saturday night are the 12th and 13th homicides of the year. Police say 42-year old Ramiro Gonzalez, and 26-year-old Manuel Manzano-Mata were shot in the area of Jewel St. and Via Rubio. The two men died later in the hospital. The Swiss Chalet steakhouse on North Broadway in Santa Maria caught fire yesterday morning about 11.   Fire officials say the small blaze was found above the front door.  to the bar area . Apparently exposed wiring from a neon sign started the fire.  The restaurant will stay open. The bar will need to be repaired.
