13 Arrested After Panga Boat Seizure


13 people arrested after a Panga Boat was siezed near Santa Barbara Saturday. On board, about 3,000 pounds of marijuana. The coast guard spotted the boat at Arroyo Quemada Beach, west of Santa Barbara. Panga boats are medium-sized, open fishing vessels often used to transport illegal drugs and immigrants from south of the border.

Cal Poly Men’s Basketball to Play UC Irvine Tonight


Tonight, the Cal Poly Men’s basketball team hosts the tallest team in college basketball, ever.  The UC Irvine Anteaters.  The Anteaters may be the tallest team in the history of college basketball.  Their tallest player is 7 feet six inches. Two others are above seven feet.  Another is 6’10”.  The game starts at seven.

Fatal Accident on Foothill This Morning


A fatal accident reported early this morning on Foothill Boulevard near Los Osos Valley Road on the outskirts of San Luis. Around 3:30 this morning, the Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of the accident. A pedestrian pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the fatal accident is underway.
