Earthquake Shakes Central California


An earthquake shakes Bakersfield yesterday afternoon.  Did you feel it? The quake measured 4.8 on the Richter Scale. It struck near Wasco about 25 miles northwest of Bakersfield around four yesterday afternoon. There are no reports of any damage or injuries. Some say they felt the tremor here on the Central Coast.

Bomb Scare at Tempelton High School


A bomb scare at Tempelton High School yesterday. Someone called in a threat late yesterday morning. The school was evacuated and the county’s bomb task force swept through the school. No suspicious devices were found. No one was injured during the evacuation. Classes resume today at Templeton High School.

Human Remains Found Near Arroyo Grande


Human remains discovered yesterday off Corbett Canyon Road near Arroyo Grande are believed to be those of ancient Chumash Indians.  People walking in the area discovered the remains along the 1800 block of Deer Canyon Road around 9 yesterday morning.
