Did you get stuck in traffic on 101 yesterday in Santa Maria? A multi-vehicle crash just before 5:30 tied up traffic yesterday afternoon. A car rear-ended a pick up truck that was slowing down to exit NB 101 at Main Street. Only one major injury reported.  That person was taken to a local hospital.

Beaches at Vandenberg Air Force Base are closed to protect the Western Snowy Plover.  This is the bird’s nesting season. Between now and the end of September, only one-half mile of surf beach will be open to people. The rest will be reserved for the shore birds.

Water rescues are up in Morro Bay so far this season. The Morro Bay Harbor Patrol says its because the winter swells have been bigger this year.
