Transformer Sparks Power Outage


A transformer failure is to blame for knocking power out to about 900 Arroyo Grande residents yesterday just before noon. The failure also sparked a small fire at the top of the pole at t he intersection of Poplar and Juniper. Everything was back to normal for most of the affected residents by 12:30.

Woman Struck and Killed by Bullet Train

Charges Filed Against One Involved in Shooting of Geoff Hyde


The San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office has filed felony charges against 22-year old Brian Thomas Gonzales of Castro Valley. They believe Gonzales is one of two people connected to the shooting of former Cal Poly football player, Geoff Hyde. Police investigators called it a "drug deal gone wrong".
