Man Arrested After Allegedly Kidnapping Ex-Girlfriend

4 Car Pileup Causes Traffic Delay On 101


Traffic on the 101 South at Highway 58 was backed up after 4 vehicles were involved in a collision. The accident happened around 7:45 this morning. Emergency Drill To Take Place Today At Diablo Canyon


A Simulated emergency drill will take place today for Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant. The training exercise will help prepare the workers should a serious emergency occur at the power plant. Branch Fire Fully Contained


According to the US Forest Service, the Branch Fire is 100% contained.   The fire started on Saturday in California Valley.  It burned 486 acres in the Los Padres National Forest.   The rural location of the fire and difficult terrain made it quite a challenge to contain. Read More »

NASA To Launch Sun-Monitoring Satellite From VAFB


The latest sun-monitoring satellite from NASA it scheduled to launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base on June 26th. The Satellite will be sent into orbit on a mission to study the sun’s atmosphere and improve space weather prediction. Cuesta College Names New Assistant Superintendent


Cuesta College has named Sandee McLaughlin the assistant superintendent/vice president of student services.  She has served in that post on an interim basis since July 2012. McLaughlin replaces Linda Fontanilla, who left the college for a job at Irvine Valley College. Full Containment of Branch Fire Expected Today


Fire officials say the Branch Fire that broke out in California Valley should be fully contained today. It broke out Saturday and has burned 515 acres, so far. Last night, fire fighters had contained 90-percent of the fire. Read More »

Brush Fire Contained At VAFB


The cause of a fire on Vandenberg Air Force Base property is under investigation. A small brush fire broke out last night at the San Antonio Picnic Grounds at about 5p.m. Vandenberg Fire and Hot Shots responded, and were able to fully contain the fire within two hours.
