Monday, the Atascadero Police Department received a report of two people being assaulted with a caustic chemical on the Curbaril Rd-US 101 over pass. The chemical was determined to be pepper spray. The victims were contacted and provided a description of the suspect vehicle that had fled the area. The victims had been standing on the sidewalk of the over pass holding protest signs of a political nature for the passing public’s view. Both victims were treated/decontaminated by me
The Independence Day Weekend Anti DUI crackdown is reporting DUI arrests from local routine traffic enforcement and special Avoid the 14 DUI deployments in San Luis Obispo County. From 12:01 AM Thursday July 3, 2014 through Midnight Sunday 6, 2014 officers representing 8 county law enforcement agencies have arrested 28 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This number is down in comparison to the 44 individuals arrested last year. The number of DUI injury collisions also went down to 1 from 2 in 2013. Law enforcement officials will be conducting more Avoid Anti-DUI efforts throughout the county and region during the 18 day Summer Campaign in August ending Labor Day weekend.
On 7-9-14, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Deputies discovered an abandoned panga boat on San Simeon State Beach. No narcotics were discovered in the boat. No one is in custody. The boat is estimated to be 30-35 feet long with three outboard motors. The boat has been towed from the scene. The Sheriff's Office will take possession of the boat. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is releasing the identity of the subject who had barricaded himself inside a home in Nipomo on 7-9-14. The suspect is identified as 28-year-old Mark Anthony Silva, Jr. of Santa Maria. Silva is believed to have been involved in a carjacking that occurred in Santa Maria. Deputies pursued Silva to Nipomo where he crashed the vehicle into a fence at the intersection of Juniper and Mary in Nipomo. Silva ran from the car into an occupied home

The subject is believed to have been involved in a carjacking that occurred earlier in Santa Maria. Deputies pursued the subject to Nipomo. Four people were sent to the hospital following a three-vehicle car crash that occurred yesterday morning just after nine. Twenty-four-year-old Elizabeth Turner from Salinas was driving her Volkswagon Jetta on Highway 46 East and trying to pass when she hit a Ford Escape head-on before crashing into a semi-truck. A Montecito resident, who threatened to blow up his residence in the 1300 block of Virginia Road early yesterday morning, was taken into custody by members of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Special Enforcement team after a five hour negotiation period. Sixty-six-year-old David Tallman called 9-1-1 at approximately 3:15 a.m. and told Sheriff’s dispatchers he had several acetylene tanks which are highly flammable, and that he was going to blow up his residence whic
