Shark Spotted Near Jamala Beach


Yesterday at 10:50 a.m., Jalama Beach County Lifeguards witnessed what appeared to be a large shark. The sighting occurred 40 yards offshore from the Jalama Store in approximately 15 feet of water. The California Highway Patrol says the man killed in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 41 near Morro Bay this weekend is Thomas Mercer, 77, of Templeton. Fire crews have contained a small spot fire that broke out in Cambria yesterday afternoon.
